Hebrews 10:34-38 (NKJV) “… knowing that you have a better and an enduring possession for yourselves in heaven. 35 Therefore do not cast away your confidence, which has great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise: 37 “For yet a little while, And He who is coming will come and will not tarry. 38 Now the just shall live by faith;…”
When I read this scripture passage this morning I felt inspired to encourage those of you who may be going through some really hard issues! These verses are in Hebrews chapter 10, which precedes the “Hall of Faith” in Hebrews chapter 11.
How did these people of great faith get to the “Hall of Faith?” They got there by holding on through the winds and the storms! They kept their eyes on Jesus through the trials and testing’s! Instead of bailing ship, they lowered their anchors of hope, which secured them in the bedrock of faith, and held on tight through the storms.
Hebrews 6:17-20 (NKJV) 17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us. 19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
If you are struggling and under the attacks of the enemy, or just with life issues in general, I want to remind you that it IMPOSSIBLE for God to lie! His promises to you will come to pass! He will either take you through, or see you through it! Both of these are promises of God! (See Hebrews 11:38 – 40) He will be the strength and refuge that you need Him to be, and He will hold you up when you cannot stand on your own! When answers don’t come as expected in this life then we have heaven to look forward to! Put your hope in God! This life is only a temporary pit stop!
This kind of hope brings the presence of God to you in the midst of your trials and tribulations and takes you behind the veil, into His secret place, where you are safe and sound! Jesus told His disciples many times, “Do not be afraid!” In essence He was saying, I’ve got your back at all times in every situation! I Am your safe place!
